How to Set Up Country of Origin and Default Tariff Code in ChitChats Shipping Pro

ChitChats has updated its API recently, now requiring additional information for US and international shipping when retrieving live shipping rates in the cart. Specifically, you must provide:
✅ Country of Origin
✅ HS Tariff Code
If these details are missing, you may encounter the following error message:
“ChitChats Shipping: line items required“
How to Fix This Issue #
To resolve this, we have released an updated version of the ChitChats Shipping Pro plugin. Please follow these steps to restore shipping rate calculations:
1. Update Your Plugin #
Log in to your account and download the latest version of ChitChats Shipping Pro using the link below:
2. Enter the Required Information #
After updating the plugin, navigate to your settings and enter:
- Country of Origin
- Default Tariff Code (Harmonized System Code for customs)
Refer to the screenshot below for sample settings. Once entered, save your settings.
3. Test Your Shipping Rates #
To ensure everything is working correctly:
Add products to the cart and check if shipping rates appear properly after the update. By following these steps, ChitChats Shipping Pro should now display shipping rates correctly in the cart.
