Yes. FedEx delivers on Saturday, and for most residential parcels it costs nothing extra.
FedEx Home Delivery runs Saturday to about 98% of the U.S. population and Sunday to about two-thirds of it, at no additional charge. The overnight and 2Day services also deliver Saturday, but only when you ask for it at label time, and only with a $16-per-package surcharge.
That difference is the whole story if you run a store.
Most guides focus on one question: “Will my package arrive on Saturday?” But for online store owners, there’s more to consider. Which FedEx shipping services actually offer Saturday delivery? How much do they cost? And how do you offer it without promising something FedEx will not do?
We build a FedEx shipping plugin PRO for WooCommerce, so the last section is about that. Everything before it comes straight from FedEx.
Quick answer
FedEx Home Delivery delivers Saturday and Sunday to residences at no extra cost. FedEx Ground (to businesses) does not deliver on Saturday. FedEx First Overnight, Priority Overnight, Standard Overnight and 2Day deliver Saturday for $16 per package, and only if Saturday delivery is selected when the label is created. Availability depends on the destination ZIP code.
Which FedEx services deliver on Saturday?
Here is every domestic service by day of the week. Green means it delivers that day as standard. Yellow means it can, with a surcharge and only when requested. Grey means it does not.

Two rows need a note.
Ground and Home Delivery are the same network with different rules.
When you ship a FedEx Ground package to a residential address, it is handled through FedEx Home Delivery. If the destination is a business address, it remains FedEx Ground. This means customers may see the same shipping rate at checkout but have different Saturday delivery options, simply because of their delivery address. (If FedEx shipping rates are missing from your cart entirely, that is a different problem: see why FedEx Ground rates go missing.)
FedEx Ground Economy doesn’t offer a separate Saturday delivery option. Whether a package arrives on Saturday depends on the estimated delivery date provided by FedEx, rather than a shipping option you can manually select.
Does FedEx deliver on Sunday?
Only through Home Delivery and SameDay.
FedEx Home Delivery offers Sunday delivery at no extra cost to nearly two-thirds of the U.S. population, with packages typically arriving by 8 p.m. However, Sunday delivery is not available everywhere. Most urban areas are covered, while recipients in rural areas may have limited services or no Sunday delivery options.
FedEx Overnight and 2Day services do not offer Sunday delivery. If the shipping services offered by your store do not support weekend delivery, your checkout should only display weekday delivery. This helps avoid giving customers the impression that their package could arrive over the weekend.
What Saturday delivery costs
This is where store owners get caught out, in both directions.
| Service | Saturday delivery charge | What you pay in practice |
|---|---|---|
| Home Delivery | $0 | Normal Home Delivery rate. The standard $5.95 residential surcharge applies every day, so Saturday is not more expensive than Tuesday. |
| First, Priority, Standard Overnight, 2Day | $16 per package | Express rate plus the Saturday surcharge plus any residential surcharge. Your rate quote returns the exact figure when Saturday delivery is requested during label creation. |
| SameDay | $56.50 Saturday pickup or delivery | Sunday is $68. Rarely relevant to e-commerce checkout. |
| Express Freight | $210 per shipment | Saturday delivery on First Overnight, 1Day and 2Day Freight. Availability varies by market, so it is a special request rather than a checkout option. |
Figures from the FedEx Service Guide 2026, effective January 5, 2026 (updated September 11, 2026). Home Delivery carries no additional Saturday or Sunday charge. Surcharges change each January.
There’s another $16 fee that’s easy to overlook.
If FedEx collects your parcel on a Saturday using one of those Express services, a separate Saturday Expedited Processing Fee of $16 per package applies on top of any Saturday pickup fee, capped at $112 per shipment. So a Saturday-in, Saturday-out Express parcel can carry both charges. Worth knowing before you promise weekend turnaround on an order that arrives Saturday morning.
One important piece of information in the FedEx Service Guide is easy to miss: if Saturday delivery cannot be completed because you or the recipient requested a later delivery date, or because the delivery location is closed on Saturdays, the Saturday delivery fee still applies.
The fee is only eligible for a refund if the missed delivery qualifies as a FedEx service failure under its Money-Back Guarantee.
This can go wrong in two ways:
First, a store pays the extra $16 for Saturday Express delivery to a residential address, even though FedEx Home Delivery could have delivered the package on Saturday at no additional cost.
Second, a store offers “Saturday Delivery” as a flat shipping option at checkout but sends the package via FedEx Ground to a business address. The customer expects it on Saturday, but the package doesn’t arrive until Monday.
“For U.S. shipments, Saturday delivery is available with FedEx First Overnight, Priority Overnight, Standard Overnight, and 2Day for an additional fee of $16 per package.”
FedEx Service Guide 2026, Saturday Delivery section. Effective January 5, 2026, updated September 11, 2026.
What time does FedEx deliver on Saturday?
- Home Delivery: typically by 8 p.m.
- First Overnight: by 9:30 a.m., 10 a.m. or 10:30 a.m., depending on area
- Priority Overnight: by 12 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. to most areas, by 5 p.m. to some rural areas
- Standard Overnight: by 5 p.m. to most areas
- 2Day: by 5 p.m. to businesses, by 8 p.m. to residences
If a customer needs their package to arrive by a specific time on Saturday, FedEx Express services offer time-specific delivery commitments. FedEx Home Delivery, on the other hand, provides an estimated delivery day without guaranteeing a specific arrival time.
The part the consumer guides skip: what this means for your store
When you’re the one shipping the package rather than receiving it, there are four important things to consider.
1. Your customers are probably already getting Saturday delivery and do not know it
When you ship FedEx Ground packages to residential addresses, they’re handled through FedEx Home Delivery, which already includes Saturday delivery at no extra cost and covers approximately 98% of the U.S. population.
Many store owners may not even realize that Saturday delivery is already included with FedEx Home Delivery at no extra cost. This is a missed opportunity. For example, showing “Arrives Saturday” at checkout for an order placed on Thursday can be much more appealing to customers than a generic “3–5 business days” estimate, without costing your store anything extra in shipping fees.
The good news is that you don’t need to add another shipping service. You simply need to display the estimated delivery date FedEx already provides through the API with its shipping rates. If you’re unsure how to set this up, check out our guide on how to configure live shipping rates for step-by-step instructions.
2. Express Saturday Delivery Must Be Selected Separately
Paying for overnight shipping on Friday doesn’t automatically mean your package will arrive on Saturday. For FedEx Express services, Saturday delivery must be specifically selected when creating the shipping label. Otherwise, the package will typically be scheduled for delivery on Monday.
This is one common reason behind customer complaints like, “I paid for overnight shipping, so why didn’t my package arrive until Monday?”
For online store owners, it’s important to remember that Saturday delivery needs to be enabled separately when creating the shipping label. Even if the customer chooses an Express shipping service at checkout, it doesn’t automatically mean their package will be delivered on Saturday.
If you’re using our WooCommerce FedEx Shipping PRO plugin, you can easily enable the Saturday Delivery option directly in the shipping label creation settings, as shown below. Simply turn on the toggle when generating the label for the order to request Saturday delivery, provided the selected FedEx service and destination support it.
3. Saturday Delivery Depends on When You Ship
Timing is just as important as choosing the right FedEx service. For example, to have a package arrive on Saturday, FedEx Priority Overnight generally requires shipping on Friday, while FedEx 2Day requires shipping on Thursday.
So, if a customer places an order on Saturday morning, selecting an Express service doesn’t mean their package will arrive that same day.
For online store owners, it’s important to consider your order processing time, daily shipping cutoff, and FedEx pickup schedule before promising a Saturday arrival.
If you’re using our FedEx shipping plugin, you can enable the Saturday Delivery setting to display FedEx services that support Saturday delivery at checkout. However, keep in mind that a service being available doesn’t automatically guarantee Saturday arrival. The actual delivery date still depends on when the package is shipped and the destination.
You can also refer to our guide on how to choose what shipping services customers see at checkout to learn more about managing your available shipping options.
4. Holidays and ZIP Codes Can Affect Saturday Delivery
Saturday delivery isn’t available for every shipping address, and FedEx holiday schedules can also affect when packages arrive. Even if a FedEx Express service offers Saturday delivery, it may not be available for every destination.
That’s why it’s better to display live FedEx shipping rates with estimated delivery dates, rather than adding a “Saturday Delivery” option at checkout. Live rates allow your store to display available FedEx services based on the customer’s delivery address and current service availability, helping customers see more accurate shipping options and expected arrival dates.
If a FedEx service you expect to see isn’t showing up at checkout, check out our troubleshooting guide on why certain shipping services aren’t displaying rates in your WooCommerce cart for common causes and possible solutions.

How to offer FedEx Saturday delivery in WooCommerce

If you’re using our FedEx Shipping plugin PRO, there are three things to consider when offering Saturday delivery to your customers:
1. Display estimated delivery dates at checkout. Enable estimated delivery dates so customers can see when their packages are expected to arrive. For residential addresses, FedEx Home Delivery may already offer Saturday delivery at no additional cost, so there’s no need to pay extra for an Express service if the estimated arrival date meets your customer’s needs.
To show estimated delivery dates on your WooCommerce cart and checkout pages, follow these steps:
- Go to the plugin settings and scroll down to the “Advanced” tab. Click it, then enable “Advanced Settings“, as shown in the screenshot below.

- Scroll back up and open the “Cart Rate” tab. Find Display Delivery Time and turn on the toggle. This will display the estimated delivery date returned by the FedEx API at cart and checkout. If your store needs additional time to prepare and pack orders, you can also set a Processing Time. For example, if you normally need two days to prepare an order before shipping, enter 2 in the Processing Time field. The plugin will take this additional processing time into account when displaying the estimated delivery date.

- Once you’ve finished configuring the delivery settings, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save Changes.

This helps customers see a more realistic delivery estimate before placing their order, including any additional processing time required by your store.
2. Enable Saturday Delivery in the plugin settings. If you want to only offer FedEx services that support Saturday delivery, turn on the Saturday Delivery option in your shipping rate settings.
To enable this option, go to the Shipment Defaults tab in the plugin settings and turn on Saturday Delivery, as shown in the screenshot below.

When the “Saturday Delivery” option is enabled, the plugin will request rates from FedEx for services that support Saturday delivery, including any applicable Saturday delivery surcharge. FedEx services that do not support Saturday delivery will be filtered out and will not appear as shipping options in the cart or at checkout.
Keep in mind that enabling this setting may limit the number of shipping services available to your customers. If you prefer to give customers a wider range of shipping options, we generally recommend leaving this option disabled and using the estimated delivery dates to help customers identify services that can arrive on Saturday.
You can learn more about these settings in our guide on how to customize carrier services
3. Remember to enable Saturday Delivery when creating the shipping label. When fulfilling an order using an eligible FedEx Express service, make sure to turn on the Saturday Delivery toggle in the label creation settings as well. This is a separate step from displaying shipping rates at checkout and is important if you want FedEx to process the shipment for Saturday delivery.

One more thing to keep in mind: Enabling Saturday Delivery doesn’t automatically account for your store’s order processing time or daily shipping cutoff. Always check whether you can ship the package in time before promising a Saturday arrival, especially for orders placed later in the week.
If you’re using FedEx One Rate packaging, Saturday delivery may also be available through eligible Express services. Check out our FedEx One Rate guide to learn more about how it works in WooCommerce.
Does FedEx pick up on Saturday?
Yes. FedEx charges $12 per day for a regularly scheduled Saturday pickup and $7.95 per day for an automated one. On-call pickup is priced separately, and Saturday pickup for express freight is $210 per shipment.
It matters in one specific case: an order placed Friday afternoon, after your driver has already been, that you want to hand over on Saturday.
Regular Ground pickup runs Monday to Friday only. So if you schedule pickups from your order screen, check that Saturday is offered for that service before you promise anything.
Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
Does FedEx Ground deliver on Saturday?
To residential addresses, yes, because residential Ground parcels are delivered as FedEx Home Delivery, which runs Saturday at no extra charge to about 98% of the U.S. population. To business addresses, no. FedEx Ground commercial delivery is Monday to Friday.
How much does FedEx Saturday delivery cost?
Nothing extra for FedEx Home Delivery. For First Overnight, Priority Overnight, Standard Overnight and 2Day, FedEx charges $16 per package on top of the normal rate, per the FedEx Service Guide 2026. International Priority and International Priority Express are $16 per shipment, and Saturday delivery on express freight is $210 per shipment.
Does FedEx deliver on Sunday?
Only FedEx Home Delivery and FedEx SameDay offer Sunday delivery. FedEx Home Delivery provides Sunday delivery to nearly two-thirds of U.S. residential addresses at no extra charge, typically by 8 p.m. FedEx Overnight and 2Day services do not deliver on Sundays.
Why did my FedEx overnight package arrive Monday instead of Saturday?
Because Saturday delivery was not selected when the label was created. For Express services, it is a special service flag, not a default. A Priority Overnight parcel shipped Friday without the flag is held for Monday delivery.
What is the cutoff for FedEx Saturday delivery?
The parcel has to ship on the service’s normal schedule to arrive Saturday: Friday for the overnight services, Thursday for 2Day, before your local FedEx cutoff. Orders placed too late may not qualify for Saturday Express delivery. That’s why your checkout should avoid promising Saturday arrival, as the actual delivery date depends on your order processing time, when the package is ready to ship, and your local FedEx cutoff time.
Can I offer Saturday delivery only for certain products in WooCommerce?
Yes, if your shipping plugin supports service rules. In FedEx Shipping PRO plugin you can show a service only when the cart matches conditions such as product category, tag, or shipping class, so Saturday Express appears for the perishable or gift categories that need it and stays hidden elsewhere.
The short version
FedEx does deliver on Saturdays. For many residential shipments, Saturday delivery is already included at no extra cost. However, some stores may not specifically advertise Saturday delivery because the actual delivery day depends on the destination and FedEx service availability.
For delivery on Saturday, you’ll need an eligible FedEx Express service and must enable the Saturday Delivery option when creating the shipping label. Depending on the service, an additional $16 Saturday delivery surcharge may apply.
