Please note an important update to ShipStation API access: beginning May 19, 2025, API usage will be limited to Gold‐plan accounts in the US and Canada, and Scale‐plan accounts in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and the EU.
If your ShipStation subscription is on a lower tier (starter plan or growth plan), you will lose API access, and neither the Free nor PRO version of our ShipStation Shipping PRO plugin will be able to retrieve shipping rates.
Do You Need to Upgrade?
- Gold (US/Canada) or Scale (UK, Australia, New Zealand, EU) Plan users (up to 2,000 shipments/month):
You can continue using our plugin: the previous version supports API v1, and the latest release supports both API v1 and v2. Please note that API v1 will be sunset in approximately one year, so we recommend migrating to API v2 to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Lower‑Tier Plan Subscribers (starter plan or growth plan):
To keep displaying live shipping rates in your cart, you must upgrade to the Gold/Scale Plan.
- Not Sure Which Plan You’re On?
Contact ShipStation Support to confirm your subscription plan.
Alternative Solution
If you do not ship high amount of orders each month and prefer not to upgrade to ShipStation’s Gold or Scale plans, but still want live shipping rates displayed in the cart and checkout page. You can consider using Shippo or EasyPost.
Both multi-carrier service platforms integrate discounted rates from major carriers and offer their own subscription tiers and billing models, which work similarly to ShipStation.
We recommend reviewing each service to ensure your preferred carriers are supported and to decide which best fits your business.
For existing ShipStation Shipping PRO users who wish to switch, we offer a free version of shipping plugins for both services:
We recommend downloading and installing the free version of the plugin on a staging site to test its functionality without impacting your live store.
When you’re ready to migrate, contact the 1TeamSoftware support team and we will assist you further.
Please Note:
- Reconfiguration Required: After switching plugins, you’ll need to update your shipping zones, package settings, carrier services, and any custom rate rules in the new plugin.
- Refund Eligibility: Since this change results from ShipStation’s API policy update (not an issue related to the plugin), it does not qualify for a refund. However, we will fully support you through the transition. If you purchased ShipStation Shipping PRO within 30 days prior to April 23, 2025 (excluding renewals), please contact our support team for further assistance.
- Avoid Downtime: To prevent any interruption in your checkout process, please complete your migration before May 19, 2025.
- Manage Your Subscription: If you decide to discontinue ShipStation Shipping PRO, you can view or cancel your subscription in your account.
